Yes, that Sophia aged 9 is put in as 'dau'. The only Sophia I could find was a Sophia Shimmin Chr May 1942 in Castletown. She could possibly have been the illig dau of Anne Shimmin. Ann Shimmin was a witness at John Kelly/Ann Mylrea's marriage. With John Kelly being a labourer but his father James a stone mason I wondered if Philip Mylrea could be Ann's father as he was also a stone mason. I'm just grasping at straws really !
I have a few earlier messages on this board probably a year ago now, trying to sort out this Sophia aged 9. I have a marriage for an Ann Shimmin & John Kneale in Malew round the same time as John K / Ann M got married but that might not have any significance at all. Now with your help, I'm starting to get the 'urge' again to sort out my Ann/John Kelly once & for all. In some research it is a case of elimination & somebody else's ideas to help - give another avenue to explore from more experienced researchers . Thanks again to you & Frances.
