That fills in a few more gaps in my family too.
James Bell 4th son born to Simon Bell and Jane Clague also lived at various addresses on North Quay. Nos 35, 34 and 33 before taking on the Cattle Market Inn by 1891 when he was 70. My great uncle Jimmy Shimmin was living with him at that time aged 10.
I seem to remember uncle Jimmy telling me that they lived in the Commercial Inn at one time - which I think was near the British Hotel.
