I suspect son in law Edward Bell took over either the same pub Robt had in 1851 or more likely the next door pub as entered in 1878 licensing court for the Greyhound pub which like Robt's original place was demolished c. 1895 (his wife was there in 1894 tho I suspect Edward bur Braddan 18971208 - probably a MI exists?) - I think the site is now occupied by the new British Hotel, Edward was s/o Scottish born Simon Bell (a labourer in 41 + 51) + Jane Clague (they m Lezayre 18131218 - Jane bur age 58 Lezayre 18480115) - Edward moved from being a car proprietor in 1851 to farming 70ac (?rented or tenant farmer) + running the halfway house Inn in Santan in 1861 + what would also appear to be a small carter's business on the side as had 2 Carters living at same address - a good place as midway between Castletown + Douglas + would need grass for horses but any business would be demolished by coming of railway in 1873/4 tho looking at reported birth parishes of ch in 1881c (some I think are incorrect) they may have moved to Douglas a little before his 1878 lic court appearance probably once clear that the railway had taken away most of his trade; They had quite a large family though one dau Mary Jane probably d unmarried in 1883
