Drum Money ?

whilst working on early Peel deeds I looked at Old Ger Bun1 34 which is described in the index as "several bills of sale with the proceedings" which relate to some land in Peel between John Cannell (soldier), his second wife Jane Callister, his stepson + her son Edw Singleton, Dau Ellin Hamilton + gson John Cannell (s/ decd son John Cannell) - the land transfers/deeds are straightforward but included in the several documents are what appears to be 2 unrelated leaves which date 15 oct? 1666 and relate to 'Drum money' demanded of Bps demesne tennants - Hu Cannell states not known such in his time 4 score yrs + more, Tho Caine (tenant of Bps demesne now for 60 yrs) never knew of such payments, Dan Cannell not known such in my 60 yrs; Gill Chroughen not known such in my 60 years;a note dated 15 Oct 1666 by Bishop Isaac [Barrow] concerning imposition of taxes in particular Drum? monie now called for by deemster Cannell - issues instructions forbidding any persons whatsoever meddling with or troubling my tenants till a further examination of this business at the court on Thusday next at Castletown.
Can anyone shed light on this 'drum money' (assuming I've read Bishop Barrow's fairly clear hand correctly)
