Actually it is believed under Magnus Barefoot in 1098, The Joint DIOCESE of SODOR AND MAN was put under as a sperate KINGDOM, under ARCHIEPISCOPATE OF NIDAROS (TRONDHJEM) IN NORWAY and by EUGNENIUS III in 1152,
This was actually confirmed un ANASTASIUS IV( 1154) from thenuntil 1458 remained under DRONTHEIM then CALIXTUS III transferred it to YORK.
YORK hadpolictally disconnected with NORWAY in 1266 AFTER WHICHIT DEPENDED ON SCOTLAND until 1334 and fnally on ENGLAND when HEN IV gave the ISLAND TO THE STANLEY'S, the last CATHOLIC BISHOP WAS THOMAS STANLEY, he was appointed under the reign of MARY he was still recognized as a BISHOP until his daeath in 1568the CATHEDERAL dedicated to ST, GERMAIN on ST PARICK'S ISLE was built abround 1245. I am not IRISH DESCENT. ROMAN CATHOLICS were on the ISLE, but by the time of the departure and coming into AMERICA, the CHURCH OF ENGLAND WAS THE FAITH OF THE ISLE, QUAKERS came and were persecuted as you stated, but 16 th century, all changed, and even the IRISH fought and still did up to the 1989, for freedom to practice their faith, IRISH CATHOLICS. The CORLETTE'S AND CAINES were so intertwined that it was plain as the nose on your face, will after will I have read, and they bought, sold ,resold, lands among each other. all the way back to the 1500's.
So I would like present day person off the line of ANNE CORELTT who have traced their tree, is they are willing to share, I would greatly aprreciate their sharing, if not, I will continue, as I have, searching through IGI and MORMON AND PARISH WILLS, and calling CORLETT's on the Isle by phone services and if they are kind enough to tell me anything about their line if they have researched, if they so desire, I still will be coming in OCTOBER, if my heart is strong enough, AS I HAVE STATED I HAVE A RARE CONGENTITAL HEART BIRTH DEFECT OF A SINGLE CORONARY ARTERY, which is RARE, and age has not helped it. So I am praying that I can make it in OCTOBER.
We must know that trees are like spokes in a bicycle, they go round and round, and yet, when one breaks,it does mean the bike cannot go, it just take out a part that was not needed, but when many spokes are taken out,then total failure, as of now only one spoke is out, and I HAVE MANY MORE TO GO BEFORE THE BIKE STOPS ROLLING.
Frances, thank you again for all you have done, and I know you are a SCHOLAR, with much history, and I RESPECT AND REALLY WOULD LIKE TO MEET YOU for we are apparently very adament,strong willed ladies, whom of course my learning is elementary to your education, but I am an avid reader and history was my best in school and college, but your degree makes mine look like a kingergarten certificate, your works are boundless, and beyond human nature to work at such a pace to give so much history about the ISLE and I respect your works immensely, and want us to just look for what is not there and perhaps could be there, and we just have not come upon it and may never with BALLAUGH RECORDS MISSING.
But with present day descendants, we may be able to knock a wall down of this magnitude,I never say never anymore for by the time I GET THOSE WORDS OUT MY MOUTH WORKS COME ALONG TO PROVE ME RIGHT OR PROVE ME WRONG.
