Thanks for your prompt response, and apologies for my delay in acknowledging receipt of same.
The information that you supplied on your father's education and post L&LSR activities is most helpful. The 'French' Railway in Sierra Leone poses some problems, unless it was a line to French Guinea, as Sierra Leone was a British protectorate. Anyway, I shall keep digging to see what railways were being constructed in that part of the world during 1947-48. It would be helpful to record date and place of death to conclude the pen picture of your father and I would be grateful if you could advise of the same.
