Thank's for the explanation, I still think the issue is what constitutes an original piece of work. The law states that copyright can only be claimed on an original piece of work, copyright cannot be claimed on a copy, yet when anyone talks about a census page it's always called a copy of the census! Strange indeed. Also about the web address's in the post, when I tried to preview it, it would not let me, it was saying edit it until I took out all the naughty words, only let me post it when I replaced . with (dot). As for my site jackwaterson.no-ip.info/manx not having text, it's a private site under construction hosted by myself on my home computer. I only put it on the forum because people could not access the microsite and wanted access to the Lawson databases.
