It may be another person called Taubman they want to honour. Thomas Corlett Caine's mother was Margaret Watterson (I've not checked for the origin of the Corlett in that family).

I assumed John Pollard Corris' mother's name was Pollard; in fact his mother was Susan Sansbury. Susan and her sister were at Matthew Pollard's house in at least one census; a couple of John Pollard's siblings were at Matthew Pollard's house in another census. Susan's first son got his name so Matthew was obviously important to the family. Just to say the assumption on mother's surname may or may not hold
