Hi Viv , seems Donna and Frances have provided a lot of information for you , although there is some confusion on who Margaret Jane is , I can't find obvious marriage for them . but the IGI does have the birth of John Taubman Cain (did you not check thr IGI ?) , to John Thomas Cain and Margaret Jane (no Surname ?? or is it Jane , but checking the IGI , this surname Jane did not appear on IOM till late 1800's) christened 1/1/1867 Onchan .Siblings Alfred, Agnes and Jessie are also on the IGI , with same parents , but again Margaret is just Margaret Jane. So the family at Ballachrink in 1881 must be them . The 1891 Brian Lawson census index seems to show the family all at various locations .
The name Taubman is an IOM family/surname , so at some stage a Taubman family was involved , on the IGI from 1750 there are 3 Taubman / Caine connections, all Kirk German :

1/1/1785 Christian Taubman to John Cain
31/8/1819 Charlotte Taubman to Thomas Cain

So it may pay to research these families, Donna has a lot of information on the Taubmans ( She was amazing with what she had to help me !! ) , so she may nbe able to help you.
