Going back to my original message in this thread, I'm thinking about the option you suggest that perhaps the Robt Hudgeon that I described therein that emigrates to Canada and marries another "Catherine" is not the same one that married Olive Qualtrough. I have earlier Lonan census (1861 and 1871) for William Hudgeon (William is Robt's father mentioned in the marriage registry) with a son Robert, then another 1881 Conchan census with Robt Hudgeon with a sister Elizabeth. However, none of these records shows a James Hudgeon. So perhaps there was another Robert Hudgeon and I will pursue that angle; certainly, if the James had a John Cowley connection that would seem logical.
