Ref posting: in 1790 lib assed Wm Quine(Foxdale) holding a 9d rent in the Particles
I have started this as a separate posting with regard to the new information supplied by Frances in response to the question from Viv.
I have been trying for a long time to identify William Quine of Foxdale born before 1745, that new information may assist with the several scraps below and your contributions in solving this as I have been trying to sort this line out for a long time
Facts
# William Quine of Foxdale was born before 1745 [item 2] and had a brother John who died in 1765 [item 1]
# He is not a son of William Quine who married Margaret Halsall [item 3] but could be a sibling
# Later in time there is Philip Quine of Foxdale [item 4] who is potentially the son of William Quine who married Margaret Halsall
[item 1]
Will 1781-1 E d QUINE John bach died 1765 in hm service;bro wm only surviving n of k;petn by wm quine foxdale states bro served time on eaten ? galley ? of liverpool but was impressed and perished with 39 other mariners in some part of the downs

William Quine Foxdale was an adult before 1762
1768-1 E w QUIRK Richard d 20 sep;disputed will;in petn nephew + heir at law thomas clucas describes him as 'simple + weak in his conduct' which allowed an injurious contract with Mrs Isable Brew (widow rev Robt Brew kk German) that his friends had great expense in undoing - Quirk in 1762 entered voluntary deed of trust with friends Philip quirk ballavargher + Wm quine Foxdale;Richd Quirk was seized with violent disorder in house[pub] of James Parr Peel who knowing Quirk's weakness
prevailed on him to declare some words - commited to writing post mortem;Richd Quirk had for some years been schoolmaster - witness Joshua brew wanted to write will after declaration but Parr said no occasion;
[item 3]
The family of William Quine[1801] & Grace Woods, do not fit the statement "bro wm only surviving n of k" and they do not appear to have had a son John.
However it could perhaps identify the parent line of William Quine [1801]born before 1721, who married Grace Woods, if John who died in 1765 was his sibling.
[item 4]
Will 1821-1 E d QUILLIAM John d feb 1821;only dau cath admx;pledges john sayle (Ballameanagh kk michl) + Philip Quine(foxdale)
Philip Quine (Foxdale) was married to Ann Shimin possibly born b Patrick 21 Nov 1784 son of William Quine & Margaret Halsall
Sometime before the year 1700 item 5 may link into the parent family
[item 5]
