Re: Lonan Liber Vast records 1700s
In Response To: Lonan Liber Vast records 1700s ()

Hi Lois,

Just a typo: "The second Thomas is husband of Joney Quay, whom he married perhaps 1600 or earlier". Should be 1700 or earlier? Or early 1700s? (Eldest son b.1708 - d.1741 aged 33.)

For what it's worth (very little), to me the two entries look as though they refer to the same land.

Liber Vast Oct 1715: Thomas Skillicorn dies, son Thomas inherits (marr Joney Quay) d.1750.

Liber Vast May 1724: Thomas Skillicorn d.1750 hands over half the land prematurely to his eldest son Thomas for his 1724 marriage to Ellinor Moore (contract published 1726).

As this Thomas died in 1741 when the heir was underage there was probably more about the land then?
