Re: Numbers in Wills
In Response To: Re: Numbers in Wills ()

Jony Quayle is the daughter who died intestate.
It reads :
At a Consistory (?) Court in Castletown. 25TH oCT. 1744 (?)
Arbory.
Having taken a hearing of the matters sett forth in the annex'd petition of Henry Gill & Ann Gill als Quayle his wife sister i Elizabeth Quale Deceased who was mother to Jony Quayle, late of Arbory who dies intestate about 20th January 1743.
We decree that whatever goods or chattells became due to the Intestate Jony by the last will of her mother Elizabeth Quayle are to return to thenext of kindred from whence they came. Namely to Ann Gell als Quayle. Sister to Elizth Quayle aforesaid. Provided the same can be distinguished and remain undischarged - and as touching what other Goods said Jony did possess of or were acquired by her own industry.
The same are decreed to her half-sister by the father viz. to Cath. Quayle - who is already sworn and gave pledges.
Henry Gill husband of Elizth Gill als Quayle aforesaid (their mistake, not mine! Should read 'Ann') is accordingly sworn in form of law and gives pledges - namely Mr Wm Curghy and John Moore

I doubt if this is the same Elizabeth, as she does not mention children in her will.
