Thank you Frances. I did find them on the 1861 census ( Maughold District 1b 23 household# 96 ) with 3 children. On the 1871 census with 7 children Macaulay is misspelled McCauley. I found that rather surprising for a family of teachers. Have you seen mention of place of birth for Edward. ? I guess I'll apply for a copy of the marriage certificate or tell my brother to go to Surrey on a vacation. I'm in New York. Thanks again, Pat
