Re: 17th century records
In Response To: 17th century records ()

lib scacc is on mormon microfilm (tho can't recall how they index it)
the fines found at end of each annual lib assed refer back to court decisions - I've started on it eg see www.manxnotebook.com/history/libscac/index.htm

the property records pre 1702 are often in lib canc (records of chancery court) this is AFAIK not filmed and you need look at actual book

there are transcribed docs in lib vas but most of these appear to be around late 17th C about when Act of Settlement was being finalised

There is also the enquests books from 1687 which document decicisions by various juries - there are abstrats on one film and the records on a couple of others.

The presentments which date from the restoration c.1665 are indexed for the 1st century - but only on film at manx museum
