William Caine/Frances Radcliff Family of Andreas
William Caine was born at Andreas, November 2, 1801, died 1858. He married, November 30, 1822, Frances Radcliff. (1778-1884)
William Caine was a weaver at West Craig. See 1841 and 1851 census

+USA ii. Thomas Caine was born August 9, 1825, and died in Manhattan, Will County, Illinois, February 15, 1916. He married, at Lezayre, April 6, 1847, Ann Cundray.
Thomas married second (?), in Cuyahoga County, January 13, 1870, Mary L. Callow.
He married third ? fourth?, in Manhattan, Illinois, March 15, 1887, Jennette Arcus.
+USA iii. John Caine was born in Andreas, September 20, 1834, and died in Manhattan, Will County, Illinois, April 18, 1908. He married, in Will County, 1865, Catherine “Kate” Keir, daughter of Alexander and Catherine (McNeal) Keir. She was born in Scotland, May 1848, and died in Manhattan, October 31, 1925.

William C. Cain (William - Frances Radcliffe) was born in the Isle of Man, October 30, 1823, baptized at Andreas, November 2, 1823, and died of heart disease, in Cleveland, October 31, 1880, age 57. He married, in Cuyahoga County, January 16, 1855, Jane Caley, daughter of Patrick and Jane (Gill) Caley. She was christened at Lezayre, January 14,1829, and came to Warrensville soon after. Jane died of bronchitis, in Cleveland, February 28, 1895, age 64. See Patrick Caley family of Newburg, p. 63.
William Cain was a shoemaker in Cleveland.

i. William Clarence Cain was born in Cleveland, July 2, 1856, and died in Shaker Heights, May 31, 1934. He married Laura Elizabeth Hower, daughter of Henry and Romelia (Beckman) Hower. Laura died of cancer, in Brookline, Massachusetts, August 7, 1941.William Cain was a bank cashier, and later vice president. Children: Infant born and died 1895. buried Lake View Cemetery; Kathryn Caine married Edwin Marvin.
ii. Frank Caley Caine was born in Cleveland, June 15, 1863, and died in Cleveland, June 7, 1923. Buried Lake View. He married, in Chicago, November 10, 1889, Gertrude C. Coffman.
iii. Charles E. Cain was born about 1866, died of “spinal complaint”, and buried at Woodland Cemetery, September 22, 1872, age 6.

Thomas Edward Caine (William - Frances Radcliff) was born in the Isle of Man, August 9, 1826 or 1825, and died in Manhattan, Will County, Illinois, February 15, 1916. He married, at Lezayre, April 6, 1847, Ann Cundray. She was born in the Isle of Man, about 1823. She is probably the daughter of Thomas and Ellen (Kermode) Cundray, christened at Malew, January 15, 1831. Ann Caine died in Cleveland, July 24, 1861.
Thomas married second (?), in Cuyahoga County, January 13, 1870, Mary L. Callow, who died in Manhattan, Will County, Illinois, between 1870 and 1880. She is perhaps the daughter of William Callow and Isabella Callow, baptized at Lonan, November 11, 1838.
Thomas married third (fourth?), in Manhattan, March 15, 1887, Janette/Janet/Jennette Arcus, daughter of John Arcus and Willamina Stout. Janette was born in Semblister, Dunrossness, Shetland Islands, July 13, 1843, and died in Manhattan, August 18, 1924.
Thomas and Ann Caine immigrated about 1848, after the birth of their son Thomas. They lived in Newburg, Warrensville, and Bedford. Thomas moved to Manhattan by 1866, and was described as “of Manhattan” when he married Mary Callow.

i. Thomas Caine was christened at Kk Andreas, September 17, 1848.
ii. Ellen Frances Caine was born in Warrensville, October 10, 1849, and died of measles, in Cleveland, buried January 30, 1852, age 2.
iii. John Caine was born in Warrensville, August 31, 1851, and died there, August 16, 1852.
iv. Eliza J. Caine was born in Warrensville, November 2, 1854, and died in North Albany, Linn County, Oregon, February 11, 1886, age 32y 3m 13d. She married, in Manhattan, April 17, 1871, William Cockle, son of John and Sarah (Paul) Cockle. He was born in Northfield, Illinois, January 12, 1848, and died in Polk County, Oregon, August 31, 1926, age 79y 7m 19d.
In 1870, Eliza Kane, age 16, was a domestic servant in the home of Michael and Elizabeth Dennis of Manhattan.

v. Mary Caine was born in Bedford, July 25, 1856, and died in Davenport, Washington, March 5, 1913. She married, in Joliet, Illinois, October 31, 1878, Henry Cockle, brother of her sister’s husband William. He was born in Northfield, February 2, 1849, and died June 7, 1922. John Cain immigrated first to Ohio, where he lived with his brother William. By 1865, he had settled in Will County, Illinois.
