Back in July 2000 there was a query posted by a Karen Hunter asking about a James William Corlett in Guyana (British Guiana) in South America. There were no replies.
Via the modern wonder of 'facebook' someone has now contacted me asking the same question. I've noted that there were a couple of Corlett's, James and John, as crew in the Guinea (Africa) Trade, this was back in 1803-1805 period. I don't know whether either of them stopped off in Guyana?
There is a William Corlett mentioned in the London Gazzette, his Will mentions a David Corlett, and also a Thomas Moore of the town of Ramsey, Isle of Man. This is 1852. I wonder if this WIll was ever proved in the Isle of Man??
Anybody got any ideas?
