that sent me searching - I've only checked the German register upto c.1780 so can't confirm or deny the bapt - however there is a David Boyde in the 1814 census of Peel in a house with 1 adult male 4 boys, 2 adult females + 2 girls; also a baptism in Peel 1814 to a David Boyde + Ann Bedin (that's the only entry I have for him - Bedin doesn't sound like any Manx name I can think of) - I wonder if connected with the Royal Veteran corps who were in Peel at this time and also I think did some work on the harbour
