as far as I can see from records the final 'e' is usually a misreading of the hand (a fancy twist at end of the t) or just an affectation of the parish clerk (possibly both) - same family can be corlett or corlette - most of the 20+ such entries pre 1840 were due to Parish clerk in Jurby in period 1806..1820
