I do think I have information on our John Shimin Cubine b @1755 Isle of Man. Jumped ship in Quantico Bay, Virginia. 10 Aug 1786. "Cubbin, John, seaman, ran away from the ship HANNIBAL lying at the mourth of Quantico (VJAA 10 Aug 86)"
This is found in Headley, Robert K Jr 1938-Genealogical Abstracts from 18th-Century Virginia Newspapers Baltimore:Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc., 1987. He married twice. Yes he had a daughter Catherine b 9 Aug 1798 Russell County Virginia. He had a total of 9 children. And their descendants are scattered all across the United States about 350 descendants.
