and your reply to mine –
“I got Thomas and Charlotte as Patricks parents from the IGI
Most of my info has been sourced from the IGI
Patricks birth baptism I found from the IGI he was married to Jane Caine 29/10/1687 then to Mabel Dec 1690”
The entry in the IGI giving Thomas & Charlotte as Patrick’s parents and date of 1663 is not an extracted record. It says:
“Record submitted after 1991 by a member of the LDS Church. No additional information is available.”
You have to be careful of IGI references as the member submissions may not have an authentic source.
Thomas Corjeage and Charlotte Mylecharane cannot be Patrick’s parents as they were married in 1813:
“Kirk Michael (MNHL #106737 16.7.07 & Cov FHC 9.10.08)
1813, Thomas Corjeage Widower & Charlotte Mylecharane sp both of this parish, were married by licence this 31st day of March 1813 by me Thos Harrison vicar
The marriage was solemnized between us, Thomas Corjeage & Charlotte Corjeage late Mylecharane X her mark
In presence of Charles Cannel, Henry Kewley”
The only Corjeage baptism I spotted in the Kirk Michael register for 1663 was:
“Kirk Michael 1663 Ann Cordeige dau of Jo. Bapt June 6 [Cov FHC #0106737 12.9.08]”
The later links seem to depend on Joney d/o Dollin Garrett & Ann Quirk being the same person as the Jane Garrett who married Thomas Corkill in 1782: Is there any evidence that the daughter of Dollin & Ann Garrett baptised in 1763 as Joney was later known as Jane?
“Michael 24 Apr 1763 Joney d/o Dollin GARRET & Ann QUIRK [Manx Notebook]”
“Michael 4 May 1782 CORKILL Thos mar. GARRETT Jane; btp; ipo HK & Willm Caine farmer; [Manx Notebook]”
Does this make things better or worse?!
Sylvia
