must admit I thought he was somewhat more than a small time blacksmith - the rebel group of methodists (reasonably large) met in his rooms by which I understood his shop - I'm sure I would have noticed a second Francis Ward (an unusual name esp on the Island) when I was researching the 1840s - his address in 1851 was windsor park - not exactly downmarket! - look at www.manxnotebook.com/towns/douglas/windsorp.htm
