I do not believe they are the same. The preacher was always described as an ironmonger and sometimes as a blacksmith. He actually married Mary A. Wilson in Bradden 6th August 1838 and went to Texas in 1852. The Francis that I am interested in had a business described as 'General Furnishing and Wholesale' (Pigot & Slater Directory 1843) I find it difficult to believe they could be the same man although both had their business in Duke Street. Hmmm?
