Hi JeanC, My mum's elderly cousin has always been interested in our family hist research and has helped out over the years doing the Cheshire Hardy side with me but a couple of weeks ago a friend of her's who is researching the Heswall Birch surname (my cousin is a Birch) said he'd found out that one of the Birch men married a lady born in Isle of Man.
He gave her the little information he had and said that he was not following the Cole side only the Birch's so he's left her hanging and she's asked me if I could help her find out more about Margaret Cole. You see, at 75 years of age she's just discovered this new line from across the water and is very intrigued about it.
When she asked her friend where he got this bit of information from he just said he stumbled across it so I have no idea where to start looking and I don't know him as I live in Norfolk.
He has no certs at all but it's highly possible that the information could be faded/hard to read etc.
I tried the Cheshire Parish Records website but I couldn't find anything there but I'll try looking again and see if anything comes up using the children's names from 1881.
