I suspect that IF the Manx ancestry centre (now renamed the i-centre) opens as planned later this year there will be considerable pressure on the Soc library - given the current financial position (and the worst is still to come) I cannot see how the i-centre can be staffed without seriously impairing the service from the museum - using volunteer attendants (as everything is digitised there can be no problems with damage to artifacts) might allow more convenient opening hours - such volunteers might well be society members who would have some appreciation of manx genealogy.
