Not to worry, this isn't in competition with the Bulletin board here before anyone asks, but it is a hidden tab on the Forum area.
Basically, I've been playing with bits and pieces behind the scenes with the new computer system and have come up with a Special User area that only certain people with granted access can use.
This concealed writeable area would include Users who have access as Authors, Editors, Publishers, Managers & Administrators, but not for those who are only registered on the system.
My goal is to allow certain people access where they can discuss FHS business, like the forthcoming Project on the Annual Exhibition for example, and where messages can be discussed in private and left on a particular board for other accessed users to see.
For those who don't have access, unfortunately you won't be able to see or click onto anything, but I'm exploring ways where FHS Members can access restricted areas for the future. (I'll keep you updated about this when I can)
It's a long way off and hasn't been discussed (that I know of), but its feasible for example, that members might be able to pay their subs on line and other 'stuff' as well. This somehow excites me, as I can see certain benefits for the Society in doing so.
Anyway, I'm enjoying playing about and 'learning new tricks' as they say, so I'm off again till next time and like I said before, I'll keep you posted.
Kind regards, Paul
