Just wondering if you are connected to this Christian line? Your research has been most helpful, particularly with Robert CHRISTIAN (1824).
I was going through the census records for children of Mark and Margaret CHRSTIAN and couldn’t verify the connection from Robert to his Christchurch descendants. Many thanks for your input.
Also wondering if you have a contact for the Auckland family that are also researching this CHRISTIAN line?

My CHRISTIAN tree outline was based on information sent by two Uncles, both of which corresponded with Owen Christian.
Over the years I have been attempting to verify what I can … at times difficult as there are so many CHRISTIAN’s and many contradictions between researchers.

Census records show that Margaret KISSACK was born in Lezayre, Isle of Man giving various birth years.
If her burial age of 78 in 1792 is accurate then Margaret KISSACK is very likely the daughter of Isaac KISSACK (1766 – 1838) and Mary KINLEY (1767 – 1846) with a christening date of 17 Aug 1792 Lezayre, IOM.
However if these dates are not accurate there is another possible christening in Lezayre around this time(as shown on IGI) for a Margaret KISSACK christened on 5 Jan 1793 to parents John KISSACK (1749 – 1836) and Elizabeth QUAYLE.

Any way here is the list that originally came to my Mum via Uncles – showing the generations that descend to Mark CHRISTIAN.

Mark CHRISTIAN bt. 9 Jan 1785; d. 1854; m 19 Nov 1814 to Margaret KISSACK b. circa 1792; d. circa 1870

A lot of questions are created with the validity of links in some of these connections. I would be most interested in anything that either confirms or eliminates the material above.

The first two generations above Mark CHRISTIAN seem to be verifiable with a few date discrepancies, however I am yet to find proof of connection between Ewan CHRSITIAN bt. 1733 and Mark (John) CHRISTIAN bt. 1692.
