QUIRK MI please Donna!
In Response To: Re: James & Esther Camash ()

Following on from my previous message, about the mother of Esther who went to Australia, and her second marriage.

In the 1841 census they were in Andreas, at BallaMcsKelly? [In 1841 adult ages are rounded and no relationships given.]
The Ancestry index has them under "Quick", but Brian Lawson's index is correct.
QUIRK Thomas 40 And 1463/1 43
Thomas Quirk 40, Farmer, Esther 40, Thomas 15, John 14, Ellinor 12, William 9, Mary 5, Daniel 1.

QUIRK Thomas 49 And 2524 90
1851 census, Andreas, Ballamareheall-?? (Ballamacskelly?)
Thomas Quirk Hd mar 49 Farming 7 acres, employing 2 men, b.Andreas; wife Esther 55 b.Jurby; with children Thomas 27 employed on farm, Elenor 21 b.Andreas, Mary A 15 b.Andreas, Daniel 11 b.Andreas, and Thomas Radcliffe 13 grandson b.Jurby.

QUIRK Thomas 59 Lez 4422 28
1n 1861 they had moved to Lezayre, at Naradal. Thomas aged 59, a farmer of 52 acres, with wife Easter aged 65, son Daniel unm aged 21, daur Elenor unm 30, daur Mary Ann unm 24, all b.IOM.

QUIRK Thomas 71 Lez 5773 47
1871 census of Lezayre, Narradale:
Thomas Quirk Head Widr 71 Farmer, b.Andreas
Thos Quirk Son unm 48 b.Andreas Imbecile
Elenor Quirk Daur unm 37 House Keeper b.Andreas
Daniel Quirk Son unm 31 b.Andreas
Robert Corlett GrandSon 12 scholar b.Lezayre
Catherine Moore Boarder W 70 b.Jurby
Cathr Christian Boarder W 73 b.Jurby

So Esther died between 1861 and 1871. Possibly QUIRK, Esther, 74, Jurby, 17 Jul 1869. Buried in her home parish.
And Thomas joined her there? QUIRK, Thomas, 75, Jurby, 30 Mar 1875.

Is there a MI for them by any chance, Donna?
Thanks.
Sue
