If the year you wrote was Thomas Cannell's birth date (which wasn't clear), and if you have this and place Michael from a census, then this extracted entry from the IGI fits perfectly:
THOS CANNELL Christening: 04 SEP 1791 Kirk Michael, Father: ROBERT CANNELL, Mother: JANE CORJEAGE.
