Thanks again, Sue, nice of you to keep in touch. I agree that the l86l census contains my family. I had known that they were still there in l86l and have a copy of Dumbells Rd, seeing that Samuel was not alive then. That's why I imagined that about l872 or after they emigrated. I imagine that Samuel died l867/68.

The other Samuel that you had asked about was Samuel (Saul) Brew's (my great grandfather's father) , another Samuel, (my gg grandfather) who died in Lonan in l827. (All of these Manx people seem to carry the same name as other relatives) Samuel Sr. is not the one I'm looking for in death, "Saul" is the one.
The Thomas Brew,son in law, 22 could be looked into as he would (my) Thomas would have been 22 at the time. Kind of confusing about Mary Brew Daur "M" female though.
