Re: Brew Marriage
In Response To: Re: Brew Marriage ()

Hi Brian: I saw what you did for Ross, and I sure wish that you could do something for me.My grandfather,John Maxwell Brew, born Onchan 21 August l853 emigrated to Canada about l871 , where he landed, I don't know, and I know he married my grandmother (who I never knew) July 4,1899 in Vancouver,Canada and died before my father was born July 4,l900. You've probably heard this before, because I reach out to anyone who will listen. I had heard that he was in the l88l census in Canada but I don't remember who told me and where I put the info. Do you know anything about where I could find it. I've also been looking for years to find a death certificate, but on my father's birth cert. it says, "Father deceased" My father never talked about his parents because he was put in an orphanage, I suppose by his mother. Her other son by a first marriage was also placed in the orphanage. Her name by first marriage was Mary Ann Cochrane and her son was Bill Cochrane. My father's name was Earl Maxwell Brew. I finally found Elizabeth (Cubbon) Brew , my great grandmother buried in Grief Point Sept.l5, l900. She was born in Onchan and I don't know if she emigrated with John Maxwell. How can I find when they emigrated, from where, and the name of the orphanage where my father would have been put near or in Vancouver, I imagine. I think John Maxwell Brew was a miner and how can I find a list of people in mines in those days. Sorry for the long letter of questions, but my oh my, I should
sure like to know who John Maxwell Brew was and where he was from l87l when he wasn't listed in the IOM census until he died l899/l900. Thanks to you if you can answer at least a couple of questions
