Just to add to the John Skillicorn confusion, I have another John Skillicorn born 1785 or 1786, son of John Skillicorn. He was a farmer of 52 acres, Gretch Vane, Lonan, and was buried in Lonan aged 82 years 6 August 1868. He married Margaret KNEALE 29 March 1817 in Bride. The only possible bapt. [if he was bapt. - which many of the Skillicorns weren't] appeared to be son of John S. 6 Nov.1785. I didn't see your Dec.18 1786 one, Lois, but there were a lot of John S. bapts around that time s/o William, s/o James, s/o Thomas, etc.
The John Skillicorns in the above Lonan family [from M.I.s, burials, and wills] were:
John Skillicorn died 13 Jan.1782 aged 64 [wife Margaret KELLY bur.6 June 1789];
their eldest son John S. died 25 May 1799 [wife Jane KILLEY/KELLY];
their eldest son John 1785-1868 above [marr. Margaret KNEALE 1817];
their son John b.15 March 1818 died 21 Nov.1874 aged 56.
