Hello again,
Just going through my notes on Skillicorn wills last night, and found this: FHL film 0106432
"Lonan 1832
Court held at Douglas 15 May 1832.
John Skillicorn of KK Lonan having departed this life 26 October last intestate and this Court having received intelligence thereof, hath (for the preservation of the right of all persons concerned) decreed his children John, Margaret, Ann, Ellenor, Elizabeth and Jane Skillicorn joint Admors and their mother Ann Adminx in trust of all and singular the Goods, Rights, Credits...."
SO...
1. The John S. who died October 26, 1831 is perhaps NOT the husband of Jane Davives. So when did that John die? I don't see another John S. burial in Lonan before 1841, when John is missing from the census.
2. The John S. [with children John, Margaret, Ann, Ellenor, Elizabeth and Jane, wife Ann] is the husband of Ann Killip, who married, Oonan april 19, 1821. She was Ann Cain, widow of Thomas Cain of Onchan.)
John S. and Ann Killip children were bp Lonan:
Margaret (twin) Sept 4, 1821
Ann Jane (twin) Sept 4, 1821
Eleanor Apr 6, 1823
Elizabeth Dec 25, 1825
John Oct 19, 1828
Jane Sept 4, 1831
(fits the probate list above)
3. John's MI at Lonan C-19: "Sacred to the memory of John Skillicorn of Ballacannell in this parish who departed this life the 3rd of November 1817 aged 47 years. Also Margaret Skillicorn alias Corrin wife of the above who departed this life the 30th of March 1857 aged 72 years. And John Skillicorn son of the above who was lost at sea the 10th of December 1831 aged 35 years. Also Ann Skillicorn alias Killip wife of the last named who departed this life the 21st of December 1871 aged 75 years..."
4. SO...
According to his MI, John S. died Dec 10, 1831 aged 35 [and there is a bp for John s/o John Dec 18, 1786]
But the probate says he died Oct 26, 1831
and the burial record on Oct 26, 1831 is for a John S. age 66.
Help!
