In the past I have commented how active Manx genealogy appears to be and it would be a pity if this interest were to decrease. Although I enjoy receiving the bard copy of the journal I would appreciate electronic postscripts. I do not feel that the reissuing of new passwords following the publication of each journal would work (people forgetting or losing the journal) but it would certainly keep the subs coming in. Better communication would certainly be appreciated. In the past I had sent emails to the local representative and have had no response and therefore do not know if the email was received, or that the request has been passed on to the society. Maybe if the bulletin were to remain open to non-members; non-members would have to pay higher prices for society publications. I myself think the fees could be increased slightly across the board.
Hear, hear, to Michael Bridson's (message posted 10 Nov. 2001)idea of offering his services, especially those of us who have computers and are members. I have no idea of how this could be achieved, but it is our heritage we are saving and working on, our philosophy should be to share and help. If all members offered to do about 2/3 hours work per month on a computer could the work load be less for those actually manning the fort back on the Isle of Man. Add me to your list of would-be supporters, and hope others will follow.
