Personally, I dislike e-zines. Give me the good old paper copy that I can highlight, make notes and don't have to use horizontal and vericlal scroll bars!!

The present two boards are a waste of resources. If the IoM FHS is going to maintain an electronic presence then it should be for members only. The "home" page could (should) be open to the public.

As Frances has pointed out, there are two major problems with on-line databases. Somebody, somewhere, somehow has to pay for the storage facilities. Also someone has to provide the effort to keep thing current. My own efforts on a Will Index has brought home in no uncertain terms just how great that effort is. My own family research has been completely shut down for over six months.

One must also remember the cost of internet access to the individual member. Not everyone has an high speed access an local telephone charges can soon mount up.
