James - thanks so much for the information - I'll try the Gunners first as I havent a clue about the date of the deed so to speak. I am also trying to get hold of records of my father military history which I believe can be obtained by writing for them. Hope you get some info on your family names too - if any of your names crop up in my research I'll mail you if you send me your email address.
