Re: William JOUGHIN married to Jane TEARE

We often hear talk of long-lost cousins, but the expression truly fits your family.
I have in front of me a copy of a 1901 letter from your ancestor from his Grocers and Tea Dealers business T. P. Joughin & Co. at 2601-5 Market Street, Galveston, written to his brother Richard Cleave Joughin in Christchurch, New Zealand.
I can't tell you much about TPJ's mother Jane Teare, but I have a lot on his father, William Joughin, who was born in Bride in 1819, son of Mark Joughin and Judith Teare. Mark was a hatter, a younger son of Mark Joughin of Cronkbane, Bride, and his wife Esther Quayle. My own ancestor was Daniel Joughin, eldest surviving son of Mark and Esther.
Together with a cousin from Tampa, Florida I am in the process of compiling as complete an account as we can make it of the descendants of Mark and Esther, so we would like to hear from you with as much information as you can muster. Please write to me at my e-mail address. If you have any problem sending, please post another message here.
