[From Manx Quarterly, #25]
Alderman Frank Gale, whose portrait we give in the beginning of this number, has been elected an Alderman of the Borough of Douglas, having represented Derby Ward since 1908. He is a native of Douglas, and is connected with the Post Office. During his twelve years' membership of the Council, he has been chairman of two committees, those dealing with the water supply and with the Public Free Library. He is a graceful speaker, and has displayed fertility of ideas and a progressive outlook. It is to his advocacy, when attending the last conference of the Royal Liver Friendly Society, of which he is a member, that the town owes the decision of that important body to hold this year's conference in Douglas. He is also a valued member of the World. Manx Association.
