Untitled small map used as a tail-tpiece at the end of the "Prefatory Letter" chapter of Peveril of the Peak printed in Vol VII of Waverley Novels by Sir Walter Scott in a highly illustrated multi-volume set published in 1845 by Robert Cadell Edinburgh and Houlston & Stoneman London. This publication also include the three plates by Leitch as well as numerous small Manx-related illustrations as chapterheads or tail-pieces.
It would appear to be based on the 1836 map by Pigot (which also happens to use Peel Castle as an illustration) - 100x65mm approx 1:450,000 though very inaccuate in parishes north of Ramsey.
