The Thirty-sixth Annual General Meeting of the Society, held in the Town Hall, Douglas, 8th April, 1915.
Mr. C. W. HUGHES-GAMES, President, in the Chair. Thirty-six members were present. The following were elected:-Dr, Rogerson, Mr. T. Rogerson and Miss Rogerson, Mrs. Laughton, and Mr, L. S. Kneale.
The Report of the General Committee and the Treasurer's Statement of Accounts were adopted.
Office-bearers were elected as follows:-Hon. President, His Excellency the Governor; President, Mr. Hughes-Games; Vice President, the Archdeacon; Treasurer, Mr. Ralfe; Secretary, Mr. W. P. Cowley.
General Committee: -Deemster Callow, Miss Morrison, Dr. Tellet, Mr. Acheson and Mr. Bell. The District Secretaries and Secretaries of Sections were re-elected.
His Excellency the Governor, in the presence of a large concourse of members and friends; unveiled the Tablet which had been set up on the outer wall of the Public Library, to mark the site of the house in which Edward Forbes was born. The Tablet was of a. blue-grey slate in a panel, with a. border containing interlaced designs adapted from those met with on the ancient Manx crosses. The inscription reads as follows :
On the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Edward Forbes. F.R.S., this stone. was placed here by the Manx people to mark the site of the House in which he was born on the 13th February, 1815.
