Mr Lutwidge desiring leave to purchase Weights, Scales &c for the use of the Officers of the Revenue at each Port of the Island of Man & that the [London] Gazette may be sent to Douglas Customhouse
Sir
I beg you will please to acquaint the Right Honble the Lords of his Majesty's
Treasury, that I humbly request their Lordship's directiond to purchase complete
sets of Wights, Scales, Measures and Gauging Instruments for the use of his
Majesty's Officers of the Revenue at each Port in the Isle of Man, agreeable
to the practice in Great Britain; which I esteem especially necessary for carrying
on the Service
I would also beg to receive an Order from their Lordships, for the London Gaette,
to be sent to the Custom House at Douglas, so the Act of the 5th of his present
Majesty for suppressing the illicit Trade direct Advertisements relating Goods
secured there in particular cases to be inserted therein.
