St James's Court June 11th 1765
Sir
In Answer to your Letter of this Day, I am directed by The Earl of Halifax to acquaint you, for the information of the Lords Commissioners of his Majesty's Treasury, that, on the 4th Instant, His Lordship signified His Majesty's Pleasure to the Lord Justices of Ireland, that They should forthwith give the necessary Directions for embarking, & sending to the Isle of Man, as soon as possible, Two Troops of The Light Dragoons, as commanded by Colonel John Hale, and The Second (or Queen's Royal) Regiment of Foot. As yet His Lordship has not received, nor indeed could possibly receive from Their Excellencies any Account of the Time, when the said Troops will be in readiness to embark; but as soon as such Advice shall arrive,I have His Lordship's Directions to communicate it to You, for the Information of His Majesty's Treasury.
I am etc Edwrd Sedgwick
[To]Charles Jenkinson Esqr

Notes

This letter would appear to be somewhat misplaced as other papers in this file refer to 1766 and possibly should be in T 1/437 as some answer is given in T 1/437/366.
