Notes

This file was in a single bundle with a few small groups of paper tied together - the order in the file was jumbled and it was not clear which papers had been enclosed with others - the table above is my attempt at placing in calendar order. There were also a few pages without authors or dates that were comments on papers.

The papers were not numbered - the 'page' indicated here is my invention to ease identification.

It is intended more as a finding aid than as full abstracts of each paper.

The dates are ISO standard format year month day;
the key persons are:
Col Ready - Lt Governor
James Clarke - non-resident Attorney General
Geo Quirk - Water Bailiff & also secretary to Lt Govr
Bishop Ward - Bishop of Sodor and Mann
Lord Russell - Secretary of State for Home Office
Fox Maule - under Secretary of State for Home Office
