[Report by Gov Cochrane] N° 6th June 9th 1758

Last week I had the honour to receive two letters from your Grace of the 18th and 23d of May, Parson Quayle of K K Malew dyed two days ago he has been for some time in a very bad state of health - leaves a poor family and as your Grace has agreed to the proposal I made him I shall send your Grace a paper to that effect to pay up to his family to next Easter and then all disputes are at an end, our Bishop went for London last week so I propose to delay recommending any body for a successor to Parson Quayle till I have spoke to the Bishop who I expect will return here in two or three months.

Mr Sedden of Scarlet at last has left us dyed as he lived with a very bad character.

I am very glad to find the papers sent anent the Naturalization is agreeable to your Grace There is no occasion to return the Plan of the Harbour of Douglas as we have more of them.

The Brass money is arryved and everybody is greatly pleased with it the particulars of the price of the Coinage and carriage of it I shall send to your Grace and I am glad to find your Grace will putt money in yourpocket by it.

As the Clergy's affairs are now ended with my Lord Derby we expect to be called upon very soon for money.

Mr George Moore is arryved and the papers sent by him I have received (viz) the Pet? anent Pedlars and a lease to Mr Black. We are making ready the Audits to be sent to your Grace.
