Thoughts and Observations on an application to the House of Commons for a further compensation for the surrender of the Sovereignty and Revenues of this Island ......addressed to the Inhabitants. (This is an anonymous pamphlet, perhaps intended for publication ? in defence of the right of the IVth Duke to claim additional compensation. It is based mainly on the assertion that his father had not the right to sell the rights of his posterity, or that, having sold them,he should have taken in part payment an annuity instead of making the capital value of that annuity available to his son. Towards the end it ceases to be relevant and becomes a political tract. N.M.) |
AP_X43(4th)_5 | In 5 chapters covering History, Description, Government & Laws,Ecclesiastical Constitution, Annexation to the Crown. ( The last chapter, by much the longest of the five,is a fervent exposition of the wrong done the Duke & Duchess, these wrongs being used as a stick with which to beat the Government. N.M.) | |
