Brief Description
AP_X30_1
14.1.1753
Gov. Cochrane to Duke. The Keys have pasesd several new laws, including the "Steel (?)) Act" which was much needed as delay in passing it had caused much confusion, This was because the Keys "not being suffered to opprose and do injustice" would for a long time not pass Acts which were for their own good and that of the Island, He has now got them in a good humour, however, by agreeing to the passage of certain private Bills. (Should be "Style" for establishing the new calendar, N.M.)
