statement For the Trustees of the IVth Duke re. the Manx Claims and Estates of the Vth Duke. This entirely concerns the financial affairs of the Atholl family and,so far as I can make out,has no connection with the I.O.M, except for a statement that in 1826 the Duke sold to the Government for £150,000 an Annuity granted to him under the Act. 45th George III cap.123. N.B. This so-called 'sale' was in fact a payment on account of the £417,144 received from the Crown for his remaining rights in 1828. N.M. |
