RESOLUTION of the Keys appointing Commissioners.

At a Meeting of the Keys at Castle Town, the 21st Day of March, 1765.

WHEREAS the Government of Great Britain. is now in Treaty with their Excellencies the Lord and Lady of this Isle for the Superiority and Dominion thereof, and that the same Isles under the Consideration of Parliament ; and as the Rights and-Properties of the Inhabitants, without proper Application, may be thereby affected, it is therefore found expedient and necessary to appoint Commissioners of this House to go immediately to London to solicit and attend his Business, and to endeavor to preserve the inherent and Constitutional Rights of the People of this Isle, as much as in them lies ; as also to procure such just and reasonable Terms for the Good of the Community and Welfare of this Isle, as can possibly be obtained. For this End and Purpose we, the Keys of Man, the Representatives of the Commons of this Isle, have resolved, and do hereby appoint, Thomas Moore, and Hugh Cosnahan, Gentlemen, Members of our House, to be Commissioners for us in our Names, and in Behalf of the People of this Isle, take such Steps as they shall be advised to support and maintain the, Constitution, Rights, and Privileges thereof, by suitable Applications to the Ministry or Parliament of Great Britain; rand n procure and obtain such just and reasonable Terms for the Good of the People and Inhabitants as are consistent with the Welfare and Prosperity of the Community.
