[cancelled]dated 17 Mar 1768; John Stevenson(Braddan) mortgages for £100 for 5 years from Richard Oates(Braddan) the whole of my concerrns of lands, houses, etc and miln hitherto known as Mullen Oates adj the Dark river on one side and the estate of Camlork on the other - Lords rent 11s 6d - Stevenson to occupy and pay interest; witt John Bridson, James Kelley 'x'; discharged 20 Feb 1789 Richard Oates ack full payment of £140 19s by the hands of John Lace from John Stevenson

dated 24 Jun 1771;John Stevenson(Braddan) + wife Jane als Cannell settle on eldest son William Stevenson their miln called Mullen Oates miln in Kk Braddan + all lands in sd parish except parcel lately sold to John Caine - Bishop's + Lords rent - possn at death of John but if Wm's step-mother survive John then Wm to have half whilst Jane has widowright - mortgaged for £100 John to discharge ; Witt Robert Kelly, Jno Kewley, Paul Gellin
Lib Plit 1784 reports the then miller sued an action in court to force bound tenants to return to his mill -
Wm Cannell lessee in possession under Richard Oates mortgagee of a certain ancient Tenant-Mill in the parish of Braddan callen Mullen-Oates or Oates' Mill and John Stevenson sworn Miller of the sd Mill as well as proprietor of the Equity of Redemption complain against Robert Cottier proprietor and occupier of a certain parcel of quarterland part of Ballaclucas in the parish of Marown who were & are bound tenants to the sd mill and ought to render thereat the toll-grist or mulcture of their corn and grain.. notwithstanding which the deft hath for three years last past withdrawn ..
Wm Cannell also sued Philip Creer another occupier of part of Ballaclucas
