FOREWORD.

TO our comrades who are devoted to the religious instruction and welfare of the young people in our Sunday School we commit this booklet.

Its aim is to encourage Sunday-school teachers, and to induce others to respond to the urgent call to-day for labourers to sow the precious seed of the Kingdom in those fields from which is reaped the richest spiritual harvests.

The calling to remembrance what our fathers achieved in their day is not intended to glorify the past but rather to incite us to meet the demands of the present age with the faith, the fervour of spirit and intensity of devotion that characterised those who laid the foundations upon which we are endeavouring to build the City of God.
